Membership Options

Historically, the Micropower Council has been perceived as an elite ‘top table’ for large companies in the microgeneration sector. As we approached introduction of the Feed-in Tariff and the Renewable Heat Incentive, the Micropower Council recognised that it was more important than ever for the microgeneration sector to speak with a co-ordinated voice to convey key messages clearly and effectively. In view of this, we introduced a new, more inclusive membership structure to facilitate the participation of all in the fast moving future for microgeneration.

Now, once again, we are approaching a key opportunity for the sector to establish a genuine mass market for microgeneration: the new Microgeneration Strategy. This has prompted the Council to further refine our structure to ensure that there is an appropriate membership category for all shapes and sizes of organisation.

Service Commitments

This is a summary of the services that the MPC commits to providing at each membership level.

Sponsoring membership - £22,400 per annum

As a sponsoring member, you will  be a key driver of MPC activity  and will influence  campaigns and policy at the highest level. Benefits include:

•        Membership of our Executive Committee, which includes the opportunity to vote on all aspects of MPC strategic  decisions and major areas of policy

•        Direct input into campaigning activities

•        Opportunity to chair and direct Strategy Groups

•        Substantial reductions on MPC conference and event fees

•        Expert advice on demand and access to all MPC briefings

•        Opportunity to represent the MPC externally

•        Advice from MPC Team as required

Corporate  membership - £1,670 – £8,935 per annum depending on size

Corporate membership is ideal for small and medium sized companies and will allow you to have detailed policy input in the areas which affect you most. Benefits include:

•       Policy and political representation on issues pertaining to microgeneration

•       Opportunity to participate in MPC Strategy Groups

•       Reductions on MPC conference and event fees

•       Expert advice on demand and access to all MPC briefings

•       Advice from MPC Team as required

Trade association membership – no charge at this level

We already benefit from the direct membership of all the trade associations whose membership are all or partly sub-sets of the microgeneration industry. From 2010 our member trade associations will benefit from:

•       Their association, or relevant sub-group, chairperson being entitled to attend MPC Strategy Groups

•       Access to all MPC briefings

•       Discounted MPC conference and event fees for their own members.

Associate (correspondence) membership – £545 per annum

Start-ups, individuals and innovators are able to remain informed on government consultations and policy thinking  at an affordable cost. Benefits include:

•       Access to all MPC briefings

•       Advice from MPC Team as required

•       Reductions on MPC conference and event fees
