The draft of the next edition of BS7671 will include amendments aimed at making the connection of SSEG's in electrical installations easier. Primarily Chapter 55 - (551 LOW VOLTAGE GENERATING SETS) sets out the requirements to connect the equipment.

E.ON UK plc published a report on the performance of the Whispergen micro CHP unit in homes being monitored as part of the Carbon Trust field trial of small scale CHP technologies. The report covers the performance of the micro CHP systems and demonstrated carbon savings in the range of 13-19% compared with conventional heat and power solutions
