The absence of type approval schemes
There is currently a wide range of qualifying requirements for different government sponsored schemes to support various types of microgeneration.
A system of type approved certification of products and installers is needed for each technology, underpinned by properly developed product and installation standards. We believe that the way to address this is to continue the work started by the Renewable Power Association, and link this, through the Work Programme 4 of the Energy Networks Strategy Group, to the work being conducted on microCHP by BSI and various industry and government stakeholders
