EEC III
Energy Efficiency Commitment (EEC) is an obligation placed on gas and electricity suppliers to encourage and assist domestic customers to make improvements in energy efficiency. Suppliers must achieve a specified level of energy savings, which is measures in TWh, and is based on the number of customers they have.
There are inconsistencies in the way in which microgeneration technologies are treated within the Government's primary energy efficiency policy - the Energy Efficiency Commitment. This is unnecessarily restrictive for companies wishing to pursue energy services options as a way of meeting their obligations. We recommend that all microgeneration technologies should be made eligible under EEC.
