Industry welcomes Sustainable Energy Bill

Immediate release: Thursday 22nd September 2.30 p.m.

Commenting on the publication today, of the draft Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Bill (a Private Members Bill by Mark Lazarowicz MP), Dave Sowden, Chief Executive of the Micropower Council said:

“The micropower industry warmly welcomes this initiative by Mark Lazarowicz which will help secure the future for microgeneration and alleviate climate change. It is vital that the micropower industry gets clear policy signals to enable it to invest sufficiently to allow the price to come down and for production to become mass market.

“This Bill and the Bill by Alan Whitehead MP (Management of Energy in Buildings Bill) have widespread cross party support and once enacted would bring about the policies and targets necessary for microgeneration to be available to all.”
