The History of the Council
In 2000, Lord Ezra, Liberal Democrat energy spokesman and former head of the Coal Board, set up Micropower Ltd. Financed by four companies from the private sector, this was designed to bring together organisations with interests in Microgeneration.
In 2004 the decision was taken to form a body to represent the whole microgeneration sector. Launched in April, the Micropower Council includes all the large trade associations and a number of leading companies with interests in microgeneration, and acts as the industry’s main contact point for government, opinion formers, the press, and the public.
